Focusing our efforts on the local economy and the global market, our school aims to bring all disciplines together focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics as the anchor. We also use various collabarotive approaches to help our students work in teams to learn together.

A message from the school nurse
Colds and viruses are common this time of year.  If your child has asthma, please make sure that their inhaler is available in the school health office.  Seasonal colds, allergies, and viruses can often trigger asthma exacerbations.  Please make sure that we have emergency inhalers available should your child need it.
Due to the recent news attention to the respiratory illness caused by the enterovirus D68 (EV-D68), I thought it appropriate to share some recommendations from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) to reduce the risk of infection with EV-D68.
  1. Wash hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds, especially after using the restroom or changing diapers.
  2. Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  3. Avoid kissing, hugging, and sharing cups or eating utensils with people who are sick.
  4. Disinfect frequently touched surfaces, such as toys and doorknobs, especially if someone is sick.
  5. Stay home when feeling sick, and obtain consultation from your health care provider.
School Fusion Accounts
Parents who wish to register(or register again) for School Fusion accounts can do so at http://acps.schoolfusion.us/register.phtml.  To view the Parent Guide, click here.
FYI: A SchoolFusion Parent Account allows parents to view all of their children’s classroom information in one web location. Parents can check assignments, view important deadlines on FusionPage calendars, follow their children's sports calendars, school events and much more!  Once parents have created an account email notifications will be sent when new announcements and assignments are added.  Only parents/guardians of students enrolled in Aiken County Public School District are allowed to register.
To create a parent account, you will need the student id# for each student and birth date.  The birth date should be keyed in with  no leading zero or dashes.

Parents please email sbrady@acpsd.net if you are having issues with School Fusion.  We are having some technical issues that we are working to alleviate.  Please contact us if you are having any issue or need direction.
Palmetto Silver Award
Congratulations to Jackson Middle for winning the Palmetto Silver Award!  Way to go, JMS!!
Transitional English and Algebra
Parents of Rising 7th grade Students
South Carolina law requires that all students entering 7th grade receive one (1) dose of Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis).  If your child has already received this vaccination, please have your healthcare provider fax a copy of the updated immunization record to the school at 803-471-2202.  If you have any further questions regarding this requirement, please contact the school nurse.

Thank you, PTO
Thanks to the JMS PTO for funding improvements around the school. Our staff is doing a great job getting the school to look even better and has much more in store for the future.
